Two months has flown by. It was a beautiful, hot, and as per usual, very busy summer in the Bouwers' house. Olive has settled into our family perfectly. She is adored by her big brother, her daddy, and especially her momma. Over the past two months she has grown from 7lbs 7 oz (her birth weight) to over 10 pounds. She loves snuggles, her swing, baths, her soother, and to be tickled and talked to. She started smiling at just a couple of weeks old, and it isn't difficult to coax a grin out of her with just a bit of cooing and oogling. In the last few days she has started letting out the most wonderful little giggle bursts, they're one of my favorite things.
Following in her brother's footsteps, Olive has acid reflux, so she spits up all day every day. From what we can tell, she has a milk protein allergy. With the help of some medicine and the cutting of dairy out of my diet she has stopped the majority of the spitting up, but is still the gassiest baby I have ever beheld! Poor thing, her mood will change from totally happy and content, to red-faced-hands-clenched-back-arched crying in half a moment.
I am still giddy over Olive's denim blue eyes. As a brown-eyed gal, blue eyes have always seemed so exotic, beautiful, and entirely unattainable. But this girl managed to snag her daddy's genes, lucky girl.
She has changed so much in just two months, I can't wait to watch this girl grow up and take on the world.
